Posaconazole combined with amphotericin B liposome for the treatment of rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis: a case report and literature review

Abstract:

Rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis is an extremely dangerous disease with rapid progress, early detection and early diagnosis is the key to improve the cure rate. There are few reports on successful treatment for cerebral mucormycosis through intrathecal injection of posaconazole combined with amphotericin B liposome. In this article, successful treatment of one case of rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis through posaconazole combined with intravenous drip and intrathecal injection of amphotericin B liposome in a hospital is reported and related literatures are reviewed.
